Oho onpas Reutuvaaran kämpän vuokra vähän pompsahtanut... Muutama vuosi sitten oltiin siellä pikkuporukalla ja vuokra oli silloin kyllä kymppejä eikä satasia.

Juu vuosina 2005 ja 2006 vuokrattiin sitä tukikohdaksi ja hinta oli jotain 90€ /viikko. Nykyään kämppä on yksityisellä (kuten kaikki muutkin alueen savottakämpät) silloin omistajina oli Savukosken kunta ja museovirasto.

Mutta paikka on kyllä loistava.

Tiedä sitten ketkä kaikki ottaa siivun vuokrasta. 600 EUR sähköttömästä ilman mukavuuksia olevasta kämpästä . Olisi varmaan ollut halvempi pienellä porukalla mutta 50 hengellä tuosta ei ollut tinkivaraa.
Vuokra menee kyllä aika hyvin linjassa muihin verraten, pari vuotta sitten oltiin vastaavanlaisessa kämpässä Pomokairassa ja sen vuokra oli 500 EUR/ pe-su.

No eihän tuo ole paha pekkaa päälle. Mahtava kämppä (ja jumalattoman kokoinen sauna) kaiken kaikkiaan.

Muuten maakellarin oven vieressä olevassa kiviröykkiössä asusti isoin kyy mitä olen ikinä nähnyt. Kerran se bongattiin ja varmaan se sitten pelästyi kun ei sitä enää nähty.

Name's Petr, age 29. I hail from Pietari and Africatwin.ru where I saw an announcment about this event. I thought it might be really great for me to join this occasion if I can... I've just used Google translate to register at this forum and so here I'm writing
I would appreciate if someone could tell me answers to the following questions:
- (since I can't really read in Finnish) What kind of a meeting is it going to be? (Africa Twin riders meeting? Some off-road riding? Nice time spending away from wifes?).
- Can I join?
- I didn't quite understand from the starter topic, what is the situation with the costs of participation? 20 euro is definitely more than OK, however, what's that about 600 euro? How much should I pay for participation and accomodation?

I love Suomi very much, visited your lake country many times, been in Helsinki, Lahti, Kotka, and I studied in Lappeenranta from January to July 2012... In September 2014 I bought Africa Twin to replace my first bike (CB400sf), so now I'm really enjoing this dual sport bike.

I'm not comimg to a event but some translation...
If i understoid there is one big old house for rent and all participants sleep there, that 600€ is just the rent for the whole house, so with 30 participants that pays 20€ each the rent is covered, all in all fee for each is 20€...
Happening itself is offroad get together, i have no details but i think there are group off-roading...

Basicly it is an AfricaTwin meeting, but there are alot of other bikes also and it seems to be the most popular adventure bikers meeting in Finland.

There are two different tracks to ride, easier is going mostly on gravel roads and the other more demanding contains smaller and poor conditioned roads with some river crossings.

Have you checked out all the AfricaTwinRalli youtube videos?

Jaan from AfricaTwin.ru participated the last year, I guess, and published some of the links. I don't know him in person, though. Seems like he lives in Lappeenranta, but I can be wrong.

I know for sure that I do want to participate, and I kind of realize that if I will I will be sucking at most of the things compared to others, but I;m still thinking of it. I don't have any off-road experience unfortunately, don't know how to do a controlled skidding on the gravel or how to cross water fords. But I'd like to start learning, otherwise why the heck have I bought a hard enduro bike?

Also, I'm just going to have 90/10 tyres, because I've just bought Michelin Anakee 3, which is said to be okay on hard, dry gavel but not in the mud or sand. But as I said, I still wish I could be there. At least to try and see.

There are beds for first 50 riders inside the house, and if there is more, they are welcome to sleep in tent. Right now, you can see from the first page that there are 54 riders coming, so if there is no cancellations some riders are going to sleep in a tent.

You are more that very welcome to this meeting!
It's always the first time for everything. Everyone has sometimes been a beginner. This is not trial- or a hard enduro meeting. Neither we don't rate the drivers at the end of the day. Just a bunch a of guys getting together (yes: away from wife and the kids) to have a great time and drive very, very nice roads.

Don't worry about the length of the participants list. There's still a quite a long time to this event and there will be cancellations. And always, everyone who arrives, is welcomed here. Not everyone sleeps inside. For example I will sleep in a tent. Because of the heavy snoring inside of the tired V2's.

If I were you, I would however, consider a different kind of tire setup. For example Metzeler Enduro Sahara 3. They give you better grip on the gravel that Anakees. And still are very good tires to ride on tarmac too. If you don't want a "full" nobby tires that is.
